Renaming TIFF files to use DOS-compatible filenames
You might wish to transfer TIFF files to a DOS-based computer for editing, or for use with another package. However, NT allows much longer filenames than does DOS. To avoid this problem, you have to rename files before transferring them.
If you are transferring large numbers of files, this can become very time-consuming. We supply a utility named Tiff_to_TIF_converter, to rename the files for you. If you wish to use this, please ask your system administrator.
